MICROMAX CANVAS 4

Micromax after strengthening its hold on the smart phone market in india through the success stories of the Canvas 2 A110 and Canvas HD recently launched its much awaited smart  phone , the Canvas 4 which is expected to  write yet another success story for micromax at  the price of rupees 18, 000 which is not really justified due to certain drawbacks of the otherwise a very good smartphone

AT A GLANCE

A 5 inch 720p IPS display  , MediaTek quad core CPU , 1 GB RAM , 16 GB of inbuilt memory , a 13 megapixel camera and vanilla android 4.2 jelly bean the smart phone has a  a lot to offer specially to the young college or high school lads . However , the expectations on the hardware front were much more from this much awaited gadget of the successful canvas series

DESIGN

The design of the Canvas 4 is a certain improvement to that of the Canvas HD however , if the build is  better and much more attractive than the other smart phones is subjective . Eventhough the addition of the aluminium side is good but the plastic back plays a spoilsport. The front of the Canvas 4 is a replica of its predecessor – 5 inch display with three buttons at the bottom .The device is still a fingerprint magnet .The design maintains a form factor that is appreciable but given its price the build should have been much better

The micromax 4 runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean giving the users access to the lock screen apps and other jelly bean goodies . Apart from the android features and access to google play store users would also have access to a bunch of micromax specific apps .  There is also a games hub on the Canvas 4 , giving the users access to games that they can download and M! live gives access to the local Indian content.

Along with many other features that comes with canvas 4, the one which we are familiar with – Pause on Look Away , which will pause the video when you turn away , and then Resume when you returns .
What is an interesting feature in the Micromax Canvas 4 is the new way of unlocking the screen . The screen can be unlocked by blowing on the display  or by shaking phone

Another addition to the Canvas 4 is that now the touch screen can  even be accessed with gloves on . And not to forget the camera of canvas 4 is really appreciable and can be used to click for parties and gatherings to deliver perfect pictures .

SUMMARY

Overall it’s a good phone with crisp display , smooth multitasking and  the added software features work well . What goes against the phone is that the built could have been much better , being a quad core phone worth 18000 performance has room for improvement and for those who wish to play Real Racing 3 it won’t work . So  it brings us to the conclusion that before spending Rs.18000 here one should look for better alternatives in

BlackBerry has launched the 9720 running on BlackBerry OS 7.1. The smartphone is priced at Rs. 15,990.

BlackBerry announced the 9720 in August and said that the device would be available in September. The 9720 will be available to customers starting September 14 for Rs. 15,990. The smartphone doesn’t run on BlackBerry’s latest OS, BB10 but runs on the older BB OS 7.1. The 9720 is targeted primarily at Asia, EMEA and Latin American markets. The device will be available in Black, Blue, Pink, Purple and White colours.

In its design, the smartphone is very reminiscent of the Curve series of smartphones from BlackBerry. The 9720 runs on the BB OS 7.1 and has a 2.8-inch touchscreen display with an HVGA resolution. The smartphone shows off a QWERTY keypad as well. A 1450mAh battery powers the smartphone which the company claims will last for up to 7 hours of talk time and 432 hours of standby time. Under the hood, it has an 800MHz CPU with 512MB RAM.

It also has a mere 512MB built-in storage but that can be expanded to 32GB via a microSD card. These specifications seem really outdated since we have a slew of smartphones that boast of better specifications at the same price point.

Commenting on the launch, Sunil Lalvani, Managing Director for India, BlackBerry said, "The new BlackBerry 9720 smartphone builds on the incredible success of the BlackBerry 7 OS. This new smartphone is absolutely stunning and provides an ideal choice for urban youth and customers who are looking to upgrade from a feature phone or existing BlackBerry Curve smartphone to an affordable, easy-to-use smartphone with rich messaging and social networking connectivity."

The Q&A session at the Mumbai launch event saw Mr. Advait Vaidya, Head Product Management categorically state that there will be no bundled mapping solution available on the smartphone. "We find that consumers in this category don't view it as a critically essential feature," he said.

Speaking of features, this particular flavour of the BlackBerry OS 7 has a couple of tweaks that are exclusive to the 9720 as of now. Multicast is one example. It lets you type a message and post it simultaneously to multiple social media steams such as Twitter, Facebook and of course BBM.

The same applies to pictures that you take from the camera. Another feature that was much talked about was something called Share FM. The feature simply lets you set the name of the station that you're currently listening to as your BBM status. If you'll notice these are all minor feature upgrades but hey better late than never, we figure.

Micromax Bolt A40 is set to be launched soon. The smartphone boasts of 1GHz processor, dual-sim and a 4.5 inch display.

Micromax is set to launch a new smartphone called the ‘Bolt A40’. Spotted on the company's website, the new Micromax smartphone features dual-SIM, 1GHz processor and a 4.5 inch display. The device is expected to be launched in the sub 5K segment.

The Micromax Bolt A40 features a 4.5-inch FWVGA capacitive touchscreen display. It is powered by a 1GHz Spreadtrum SC6820 processor and runs on outdated Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread operating system. The device has a 2MP rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front facing camera for video calling.
The Bolt A40 has 512MB of RAM and 512MB of ROM. The phone supports expandable storage up to 32GB via microSD card slot. On the connectivity front, the Micromax Bolt A40 supports Bluetooth 2.1, EDGE, GPRS, Wi-Fi and USB 2.0 but does not support 3G connectivity.

it has a 1500mAh battery that the company claims can deliver standby time up to 175 hours and can give talk time up to 4.5 hours. Micromax has preloaded the device with apps like EYE Room, 3in1 Bubbles, M!Live, Hike, Opera Mini and Spuul.

Micromax recently unveiled the Micromax Canvas Ego A113 smartphone. The phone is available for pre-orders on snapdeal.com for Rs 12,999. The device has a 4.7-inch display and offers Dual SIM (GSM+GSM). It runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and has a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM. It has 4GB internal storage expandable up to 32GB via microSD card support. The Canvas Ego A113 has an 8 MP rear camera with LED flash and video recording.

New iPhone 5C & 5S

Everything you wanted to know about the new iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C right from its features to its price in India

much-awaited event has arrived. Scheduled at 10 am PDT (10.30 pm IST) in Cupertino, California; Apple is set to launch two new iPhones if the consistent rumours and leaks are to be believed.
The two new phones viz, the iPhone 5S an upgraded version of the existing iPhone 5 and the much talked about iPhone 5C, a cheaper iPhone set to compete with Samsung and others in developing yet huge markets like China and India. Here is what the rumour mills have to say about the features and pricing of the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C:

Apple iPhone 5S Features and Pricing

The Apple iPhone 5S is expected to retain the same design, much like what Apple usually does with their 'S' branded ones with some bump in the internal features of the devices.
New Colors: The iPhone 5S is supposed to be launched in two new colours - champagne gold and a lighter grey version

Fingerprint Scanner: Called Touch ID, the scanner has been the most talked about feature of the yet to be launched flagship device. A biometric scanner was always on the cards after Apple’s acquisition of AuthenTec. The scanner is believed to be embedded in the home button which will have a convex sapphire glass over it to provide scratch resistance.

Camera: A better camera is the norm and rumours suggest that the pixel count could go up to 13MP on the iPhone 5S with dual LED flash integrated at the back if certain leaked images of the casing are to be believed.

iOS7: How can we forget Apple’s redesigned latest software the iOS 7 which promises to breathe freshness in their 6-year-old UI?  iOS 7 not only gives the iPhone 5S full multi-tasking but also the ability to shoot videos at 60 fps and a much improved Siri (hopefully it’ll understand the Indian accent better).

Improved Internals: We should see a faster CPU (should be called A7) and a better GPU. The display size and resolution are more or less likely to be the same; though there are rumours of Apple using Sharp’s IGZO display technology in their future devices, not this one perhaps.

Better Battery: With the new iOS 7, which offers full multi-tasking there has to be a larger battery on the iPhone 5S.

Pricing: The iPhone 5S will be the new flagship device and considering the fact that the rupee is not doing that well against the dollar, it should be easily priced about Rs. 50,000.

Apple iPhone 5C Features and Pricing

The Apple iPhone 5C is considered to be a mid-range device and thus sports a cheaper plastic back cover design in multiple colours.

When it comes to the hardware of the device, it’s believed to be based on the iPhone 5. So essentially all the capabilities will be very similar to that of the iPhone 5, albeit a different and cheaper outer body.

Pricing: Our bet is that the Apple iPhone 5C would be priced at around Rs. 30,000.

We sometimes don’t want to receive calls at a particular time. But the caller understands that we are not answering call. If you switch off your phone ,then caller thinks that you switched off your mobile to get rid from him.

So make your mobile as unreachable and the caller will thought that its a network problem. You don’t need to remove sim card!!!

1. Remove Battery Directly When your phone is on

It’s most easiest trick. You only need to remove battery of your mobile when it is working. The network will not get any idea of you switching off the mobile. Remember ! Don’t switch off your phone before removing battery.

2. No-signal spots inside your house:

You may find some places in your house with low/no mobile network signal. You can keep your phone there and try calling to it. If you hear ‘not reachable’, then that’s what another caller will hear too. But it’s not foolproof. The signal strength fluctuates continuously and some time the caller may be able to ring your phone.

3. Switch off your mobile while not reachable:

Make sure you are not in the mobile network’s reach. Now switch off the mobile phone. The network will not get any idea of you switching off the mobile. Now wherever you go, the network will think your mobile is still unreachable.

4. Make your phone Unreachable with Wrong operator selection

Open Menu Go to Settings> Phone Setting > Operator Selection and select Manual!
Now your phone will search for available operators. Select any other network except your own network (i.e. If you are using BSNL, select TATA DOCOMO). You will get an error message No network access! Now look at the signal bar. It is empty!  But dont press back. If you press back, the phone will capture signal again. If any caller call you then, he will hear that your phone is out of network range! These tricks work on almost every phone.

I never really had the time playing games on my Macbook, anytime i’m with it, i’m either on the internet or working. Though I love games big time especially when it comes to HD games for android, I really like them. Thanks to advancement in technology hHD games have been made to work like or better on mobile than on console. So anytime i’m not with my Macbook or whenever i’m travelling, these Android HD games keeps my company. Now lets get into the action and see the best Android HD games for 2012-2013

Modern Combat 3 Fallen Nation

If you are the kind that like it when its war time or likes shooter games then you really need to see modern combat 3, although I have never played it on a computer or console but I don’t think it can be better than it is already on Android. You play as corporal James Walker and fight through a 13-mission campaign from Los Angeles to Pakistan with different types of gameplay from escort to helicopter, destroy, 4×4 chase and more.

Need For Speed Hot Pursuit

I have never played a racing game as entertaining as this game, need for speed hot pursuit is not just a racing game, I call it a combination of action and race. You really need to see this game if you own an Android device. It has two game plays, you either play as a cop and take down racers or play as a racer and escape cops, you could also race with other cops to escape or race to a crime scene in a given time and win price and bounty unlock new cars.

FIFA 12 by EA Sports

Football has never been more real on mobile, EA offers on the best mobile football experience on Android, the game play and fluidity of the players movement is almost realistic, the animation and graphics is so perfect that sometimes I would ask myself if i’m really playing a game or watching a live match, though i’m not much of a football fan but fifa 12 keeps me coming back for it.

The Amazing Spiderman

When I played the previous spiderman game on my Nexus S, I taught it was amazing but now that I saw the amazing spiderman I know what’s really amazing. This game has stunning graphic and the content is well detailed and brings all the web-sling actions that you would expect.

9mm HD

Here is another shooter game for you but here you play as a cop and head a special taskforce of like-minded cops set on ridding the town of crime, regardless of what measures need to be taken then after killing a drug lord’s brother and stealing millions of dollars, you become the target of every gangbanger in the city. The only way to survive is to kill them before they kill you, legally or not.

1. Permanently delete the account
2. Temporarily deactivate account

How to permanently delete your Facebook account

Now, if you still intend to use your Facebook account later in the future, you should use the second option which I’m going to explain afterwards. Using this method deletes your Facebook account: photos, videos, updates, notes… everything you’ve ever shared on Facebook (I really don’t know if Facebook actually deletes your personal info from their database anyway).

- Go to THIS PAGE

- Hit the Delete My Account button

- Enter your password and fill in the captcha.

You account should now be permanently deleted within 14 days. If you change your mind, you can log in to Facebook before 14 days but if you don’t, your account will be completely deleted and this is not reversible.

How to Temporarily Deactivate your Facebook Account

This is the option I went for cuz it’s safer and sounded more like what I needed. You can always log back in whenever you need to use the account again but while it’s deactivated, your friends can’t interact with you; it’s like taking a break from FB.

- Go to your Account Settings from the top-right menu

- Click on Security, then “Deactivate your account” as shown below:

 - On the next page, select your reason for deactivating your account and hit the “Confirm” button.

- Enter you password, fill the captcha verification and that’s it. Your account will be deactivated but you can always activate it back anytime you want by simply logging in to Facebook with your normal log in details.
